FAQs
  • What exactly am I getting for this price?
20+ modules of video instruction, plus:

PDF handouts of the slides in each section
Audio file of the lesson to take on the go
Over a dozen handouts (checklists, worksheets, ebooks)
Updates and additions to the course
One year's access from the purchase date

Finally - increased confidence in all your insurance dealings!
  • Am I able to skip around the modules?
Yes. You may want to revisit modules out of order. One caveat: don't skip a module because you assume you know it. I often hear "when did that change?" You're busy - you can't catch everything. That's why I'm here!
  • I'm not sure my employer will buy this. How can I convince them?
One successfully appealed crown claim will make it worthwhile. A confidently presented treatment plan that results in appointments will justify the investment.

Here's what I see the most: this topic is overwhelming. Not losing you to burnout will make it worth it. Inefficient systems are incredibly stressful to clean up and manage. Let's get your claims paid by showing you the ideal way to handle this in your office.
  • I'm not an insurance coordinator. Will this course help me understand insurance?
Absolutely! My classes are attended by doctors, clinical team members, sales reps and even insurance employees.

Here's how this class can help:

    FOR DOCTORS AND SPOUSES:
Often you don't want the team to know there is a gap in your knowledge. Take this privately so you can better understand and manage your administrative team. The documentation piece alone will increase your claims payments.

    FOR CLINICAL TEAM MEMBERS:
You find yourself handling insurance more every day. You didn't receive much (if any) training and you have a feeling you're missing something. This course will fill in the gaps for you.

    FOR SALES REPS:
Your customers are feeling the stress of insurance participation and 'paperwork.' You will be able to help them be more efficient if you understand the financial pressures that come with revenue cycle management.
  • Does this course cover orthodontic billing? What about medical billing?
It doesn't. My advice is to visit the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) website for coding guidance. Additionally, the ADA's Coding Companion Guide has a full chapter on this topic.

Each carrier handles this differently so visiting the different Provider sections of their pages could help.

I don't teach medical billing. Honestly, you don't want to take advice from me on this topic! Check out dentalmedicalbilling.com for help.
  • What's your refund policy?
No refunds are available on digital products. If you feel that you're not receiving value, then please reach out to me: insurance@odysseymgmt.com
  • What if I need more than just a course?
I offer strategy calls in one-hour increments. You can book one from the Coaching section of my website. Unfortunately, I've had to give up in-office trainings due to time constraints.
  • Is there a membership option?
Stay tuned! My colleagues and audiences want to talk with other insurance nerds. I hear you loud and clear - I'm working on it now!
  • Whose name is printed on the certificate?
The person whose email and name were used for registration will print on the certificate of completion.
  • Can this be applied toward my AADOM designation?
The course will count toward designation but it will need to be purchased on their site. Follow this link to buy it via AADOM's Member Portal:

With Ruby Jean Eaches, fellow CE enthusiast
Hello - I'm Teresa Duncan
and I'm
here to help!

I've taught insurance for years, but my slides are always changing. My audiences deserve the most current and accurate information. This means I'm always reading, talking with offices and meeting with industry experts.

My About Teresa page has more information but here's a few quick reasons why my audiences and colleagues trust me:

  • I'm a contributing author to the ADA's Coding Companion Guide.
  • I am connected with carriers and dental organizations. This gives me multiple perspectives on issues that impact providers.
  • My book Moving Your Patients To Yes has helped thousands of offices have better insurance conversations.
  • Along with my classes, my podcasts and articles have helped thousands of dental team members and doctors.
  • More importantly, I nerd out on dental insurance! If you don't then that's okay but you want to learn from someone who loves it. That's me!
